With the number of available cabs and other car services in New York, we assumed that only clubgoers and bartenders needed to prepare for Lindsay Lohan’s move to New York — we were wrong.
The 26-year-old actress’s arrest for hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene on Tuesday night has us absolutely baffled when it comes to why Lohan was driving in New York (and has us wondering how high her insurance premiums must be).
The star was reportedly attempting to park her Porsche in front of her hotel at 2 a.m., when she allegedly hit the knee of a man. TMZ is reporting that Lohan has told friends she had no idea she hit anyone and it wasn’t until she was arrested that she realized anything had happened.
Lohan’s latest vehicular mishap is especially ironic given the comments her mother, Dina, made in a recent interview with Dr. Phil. Dina appeared inebriated in the interview (though she denies being drunk), and when Dr. Phil began reading off the laundry list of car accidents and legal troubles that Lindsay has been involved in, Dina made yet another excuse for her daughter
“[If] she was living in New York that wouldn`t — five of them would be obsolete,” she told Dr. Phil of the many accidents.
It looks like that’s one excuse Dina isn’t going to be able to use again, but a perfect example of her enabling behavior. Lohan’s accident comes just days after she was seen drinking at her mother’s 50th birthday party, and after she blasted fellow driving disaster Amanda Bynes for her accidents.
“Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” Lohan tweeted on Sept. 17.
When asked about Dina’s excuses and why Lindsay was driving in New York City in the first place, the actress’s rep Steve Honig, told The Huffington Post that they were not commenting at this time.
